IT Support Engineer - Office365, Azure, Servers

£25 - £30k per annum - Newmarket 

Cloudscope are looking for a IT Support Engineer for a world leading business in life sciences and testing services. You will be joining the business at an exciting time, you will be helping to transform the existing infrastructure organisation, and help with integration with a new ground-up system architecture. With opportunities to work in a number of industry-leading technologies.


The Role

  • Handling support requests for internal business users.
  • Provide desk-side and remote support to users, including resolving hardware issues.
  • Helping to set-up and maintain on-site networks and servers.
  • Provide local support for desktop, server and network infrastructure equipment.
  • Provide local support to specialist instrument PC working with software vendors where necessary.
  • Provide a high level of internal customer care.
  • Monitoring and maintaining Telephone systems and networks.
  • Project work, on integrations and improvements to systems.
  • Mainly based at the Newmarket site, there may be travel to other sites to provide onsite support
  • Working with the business to understand requirements and problems.

The Candidate 

  • Be familiar with ticket logging and remote management and monitoring processes.
  • Good problem solving ability.
  • A passion for technology.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous experience in IT Support.
  • Proficient with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO and RDS including Azure AD.
  • Experience in Virtualisation.
  • Strong Microsoft products background knowledge.
  • Familiar with remote application support ie, Citrix, RSA Tokens and SSL VPN.
  • Networking support of switches/routers and firewalls (knowledge and troubleshooting skills (LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS).
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft technology at administrator level including Windows Server, Hyper-V, System Center, Active Directory and Office 365.


Working Hours: Monday - Friday 

+         25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, increasing with long service. Other benefits include: quarterly profit-based bonus, personal training & development, company shutdown over Christmas,

Location: Newmarket 

Commute: Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire

Who would suit this role?

This role would suit an experienced IT Support Technician with a good level of technical knowledge around servers and networks who is confident in their ability to set systems up.
