CloudScope is working with a well-established Managed Service Provider on the outskirts of Ipswich to recruit an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer. This role is ideal for a senior technical professional who enjoys tackling complex problems, improving infrastructure, and acting as a technical escalation point within a busy MSP environment.

As a 3rd Line Engineer, you’ll sit at the top of the support function, working on advanced technical issues, project delivery, and system improvements across a diverse client base. You’ll collaborate closely with the Technical Lead and Service Desk, while also mentoring junior engineers and helping raise technical standards across the business.

This is a hands-on technical role with genuine influence, your expertise will shape how systems are designed, supported, and improved.

In this role, you will:

• Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues
• Design, maintain, and optimise client infrastructure environments
• Deliver and support projects including migrations, upgrades, and security improvements
• Provide advanced support across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and virtualised environments
• Troubleshoot networking issues involving firewalls, switches, VLANs, and VPNs
• Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices across client systems
• Support and mentor 1st and 2nd line engineers
• Work with service management platforms to ensure SLAs and quality standards are met
• Carry out on-site client work where required
• Participate in an out-of-hours rota on a planned basis

You’ll be trusted to own problems end-to-end and deliver solutions that genuinely improve client environments.

We’re looking to speak with candidates who have:

• 3+ years’ experience in an IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
• Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and virtualisation (Hyper-V / VMware)
• Solid networking knowledge (firewalls, switches, routing, VLANs, VPNs)
• Experience delivering technical projects and complex troubleshooting
• Confidence mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical decisions
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to attend client sites when needed
