As the world moves towards more sustainable and circular models of consumption, recommerce—the buying and selling of pre-owned goods—is quickly becoming one of the most disruptive forces in retail, tech, and eCommerce. But behind the scenes of this booming movement is a rapidly evolving job market.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped a friend sell beauty accessories on Facebook Marketplace and Shops as a way to adapt to the changing market. While recruitment and eCommerce might seem very different, this experience taught me some valuable lessons that apply to both selling products and hiring people.
