About the Role

As a Development Technical Lead, you will provide expert guidance and hands-on leadership to ensure the success of technical projects across Product Development, Marketing, and Operational roadmaps. You will lead the development team from the front, aligning their efforts with clean coding principles, best practices, and scalable architectures. This role focuses on technical leadership rather than direct people management, fostering a collaborative and productive development environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical and Architectural Direction:

Define and implement the technical and architectural direction for projects across product development and operational initiatives. Collaborate with the CTO to design scalable, efficient, and future-proof technical solutions. Conduct regular reviews of system architecture to ensure alignment with business goals and best practices.

Development Team Support:

Act as a knowledge expert to unblock development teams from environment, tooling, or workflow challenges. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure seamless project progression. Foster a positive and collaborative environment that promotes productivity and innovation.

Coding Standards and Quality:

Partner with the CTO to define, document, and enforce coding standards and clean code principles. Promote peer reviews and automated testing to maintain high-quality code. Champion continuous improvement in development and deployment pipelines through Agile methodologies.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience leading development teams from the front in a hands-on technical capacity. Strong expertise in Symfony development and an understanding of clean code principles. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence. Solid understanding of systems architecture and the ability to design efficient, scalable solutions. Experience with SOLID principles and other software design best practices. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to unblock teams facing technical challenges.

What We Offer

Competitive salary circa £80,000. Opportunities to work on exciting and impactful projects. Collaborative and supportive engineering culture. Flexible working arrangements.
